Anna Murray, editor-in-chief

Anna Murray is a third year at the University of Virginia double-majoring in Public Policy and Economics from Richmond, VA. She has worked on the journal since her first year at the university and is involved with both the Model United Nations team and IRO. Aside from the journal, she is an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow in the Economics Department. In her spare time, you can find her studying Mandarin or salsa dancing. Having spent the past semester on exchange in Taipei, she is excited to be the Editor in Chief the journal this year and looks forward to a successful publication!

 
 
 

Victoria Djou, Managing Editor

Victoria is a third-year from Honolulu, Hawaii majoring in Foreign Affairs with a minor in Chinese. Aside from the Journal, she is a teacher for Charlottesville Debate League, the outreach chair for Challah for Hunger, and is involved with VISAS. Her academic interests include China-Taiwan cross strait security, democratic backsliding, and education policy. Outside the classroom, she enjoys sailing, playing ukulele, and cooking. 

 

Neha Jagasia, CO-Production Chair

Neha is a second year majoring in Government with a minor in Business Spanish from Aldie, Virginia. She enjoys getting involved on Grounds through advocating for students as an Investigator for the Honor Committee and providing professional development opportunities for her class on the Second Year Council. In her free time, she enjoys playing the flute and teaching middle school students Public Forum debate. She is so excited to serve the Journal this year as one of our Production Co-Chairs!

 
 
 

Maggie meares, CO-PRODUCTION CHAIR

Maggie Meares is a second year from Alexandria, Virginia planning on double majoring in Public Policy and Art History. Outside her work on the Journal, she serves as D&I chair of the Jefferson Society, teaches with Charlottesville Debate League, is an active trip leader in Outdoors Club, and absolutely crushes IRO pickleball tournaments! When not doing any of those things, you can probably find her starting a new knitting project, spending time hiking, picking up yet another hobby, or talking her friend’s ears off. 

 

Will hancock, MEDIA MANAGER

Will Hancock is our media manager and a second year majoring in Economics and English. He helps lead the UVA Model United Nations team, enjoys International Relations Organization (IRO) and Flux Poetry and Spoken Word, and he stays actively involved with upholding UVA’s unique Honor system. He also enjoys debating and discussing pressing economic issues with the Alfred Marshall Society, and in his free time, you can find Will watching UVA sports (wahoowa!), hiking, or writing poetry. Will is excited to work with the Virginia Journal of International Affairs as we publish our 30th issue this fall. 

 

Pratha Purushottam, EVENTS COORDINATOR

Pratha is a third year double-majoring in Political Philosophy, Policy, & Law and Foreign Affairs. In addition to the Journal, she competes on the Moot Court team, volunteers at the Legal Aid Justice Center, and spends her Sundays with Afghan refugees through the Madison House Cville Tulips. With interests in migration, arbitrary detention, and women’s rights, she plans to attend law school after graduation. In her free time, Pratha enjoys baking for her friends, eating her way through Charlottesville, and missing her dog (and family) back home.
